The Google Dinosaur Game (also called Chrome Dino or T-Rex Runner) was created in 2014 by Google Chrome’s UX designers: Sebastien Gabriel, Alan Bettes, and Edward Jung. Their goal was to turn the offline error page into something fun — a way to ease the boredom of waiting for internet reconnection.
The idea of using a dinosaur was symbolic: the offline world is like going back to prehistoric times — no Wi-Fi, no modern conveniences, just you and your reflexes.
